Is Second Dosage Of Booster Shot Advisable If Had Convulsions During First Shot?
should I give my son his second booster shot? he had an overdose in the first shot and the doctors told me it was sort of convulsion or something like that.... A head doctor said to give him an alternate shot.... In his first shot the side effects was that he fainted no response,turn him on his side jaws was locked..for about 15 min...bathe him luke warm water till he started to response,when his jaws opened I gave double dose of children s panadol....carried him to the hospital X ray showed that his heart had expanded....nothing was done...it happen twice after that finally a doctor recommend anti biotics he got better an nothing has happened since...he is due to get his second booster in a few months....

Usually this happens with whole cell pertussis containing vaccines, and for subsequent vaccines, it is better to opt for acellular pertussis vaccine. But we need to consider many factors like the exact nature of incident, time gap between vaccine and the incident and reports of investigations done then.
