i am 53 years old and have epilepsy , my brother is 49 and has started having seizures can this be heritary i began having seizures at 48 years of age due to migraine headaches, now my 49 year old brother who has migraines has also started having seizures is this a heritary issue or stress issue. His doctors insist his are psuedo siezures but I have seen his and they are full blown seizures I am a nurse and have seen both, just curious about the heritary factor
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic. Migraines and seizures are sometimes related. Hereditary disorders called channelopathies can present both with migraine and seizures. If doctor is suspecting pseudoseizures in your brother there must be some reason for it. If it is a fit he requires medication and if it is a pseudoseizure no medicines are required. It is very important to diff the two. A good Neurologist can solve your problem. I hope this will help you. Bye
