Is Severe Pelvic Pain A Sign Of Endometrial Cancer?
Hello I went to the ER for two days due to sever pelvic pain and abnormal bleeding and I got diagnosis of PID. Had a high WBC but also got told i have a 22mm thickened endometrium and not pregnant and there s no definite adnexal mass or pelvic free fluid and I have body tissue coming out my vagina. Very bloated and have a hard time walking with the pelvic pain is that a sign of endometrial cancer?
Hi there, I have understood your concern and I will suggest you the best possible treatment options.
First of all do not panic.
I would like to assure you that only thick endometrium is not suggestive of endometrial cancer. Thick endometrium can be due to excess action of hormone estrogen.
I will suggest you to seek prescription support from your treating doctor for a broad spectrum antibiotic like Amoxycillin and Clavulinic acid tablets two times a day for 5 days and suitable analgesic like Paracetamol as needed for pain. Please get diagnostic Hysteroscopy with endometrial biopsy done. Do not draw any conclusions before you get histopathology report of the endometrial biopsy.
Till then, opt for a healthy diet and regular exercise regimen. Include more portions of fruits and vegetables and salads in daily diet. Drink plenty of water. Start on Folic acid and vitamin B 12 supplements on regular basis.
I hope this answer helps you. Thanks. Dr. Purushottam Neurgaonkar
