Is Severe Temple Pain Which Radiates To Face A Cause For Concern?

My sister is visiting me and is having very bad right temple pain that radiates down the right side of her face she cant lay down to get comfortable and ibuprofen 800mg dont help we are worried of what it could be can you tell us if this is seriuse please and what we should do thanks

Hello.....i understand your concern.
Pain around the temple area which is radiating down the face could be a symptom of trigeminal neuralgia. The pain is typically like a current or shock going down the face.The pain unfortunately does not respond to the usual painkillers.
Do not worry,its not life threatening.
Please consult a neurologist who can examine her and confirm the diagnosis. She may also need an mri of the brain to rule out other possibilities.
If it does turn out to be triginal neuralgia, there are specific medications which can keep the symptoms under control.
