Hi my wife has completed 4th month of pregnancy and getting into 5th month. when i consultedd doctor during 15th week , He said every thing is normal. My question - Is it safe to have sex during 5th month and till what time i can have sex with my partner
Hi It is safe to have sex during pregnancy right up until delivery as long as pregnancy is progressing NORMALLY and your wife is keeping good health and feels comfortable doing sex.
In the last few weeks of pregnancy with increasing size of baby your wife may not feel comfortable having sex. With mutual consent if you both wish you can try alternate sexual positions. Or you can try cuddling and massage. Orgasms can cause uterine contractions and in the third trimester sometimes these contractions are prolonged and painful. This does not increase the risk of early labour. So it should not be a concern.
The baby is protected in a bag of water which acts as cushion. The neck of uterus is sealed by mucous plug which guards against infection. So don't worry. Having sex is not going to harm your baby.
You should not have sex if your wife develops early labour pains or bleeding per vagina. I hope I have answered to your satisfaction. If you have any further concerns do intact me through healthcare magic.
