Is Small Amounts Of Blood In Urine A Cause For Concern?

Good Evening, I have a quick question. At my last doctors appointment I had a trace of blood in my urine. My provider told me that it was okay, that it was nothing to be concerned with. I have not been feeling well, so just out of curiosity I dipped my urine at work, and there is was a moderate amount of blood and small amount of bilirubin. My question is should I be worried?

Hello,

As per your history, it seems that you might be having kidney infection. You said I was not feeling usual, but you must have admitted the unusual symptoms too.

If you had dizziness, fever, generalized body ache etcetera, then these are the symptoms of (Urinary Tract Infection (UTI). If you feel pain in the region and there is no associated symptom, then it can be the kidney stone.

Most probable cause seems to be the UTI, for that you need to consult a doctor and go for a antibiotics therapy.

If you would have been my patient, I would have advised the proper antibiotic regime after checking your age, weight and general body status. In case you provide other details we can provide you better diagnosis and treatment plan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muzaffar Hussain Parray
