Is Smoking Marijuana Safe Before A Colonoscopy?
Hello, I have a colonoscopy at 10:00am tomorrow morning, and was wondering if there would be any negative side effects if I smoked some marijuana tonight to relax. I have followed all guidelines given by my doctor (clear liquid diet, etc) and am just wondering if smoking could effect my test results

Marijuana consists of cannabis and smoking cannabis one day before colonoscopy is not advisable. Cannabis may alter the concentration and doses of anaesthetic agents used in colonoscopy procedure and may result in harmful effects. It may cause activation and greater amounts of anaesthetic agents will be needed to see full effects. So I would advise you to not to take Marijuana before colonoscopy.
