Is Smoking Advisable While Having Stitched Raw Injury On The Lips?

HI I RECENTLY GOT STITCHES IN MY LIP AND ON THE OUTSIDE AFTER A FIGHT I WAS IN. I AM A CIGARETTE SMOKER AND WAS WONDERING SINCE IT HAS BEEN ALMOST 5 DAYS I AM CRAVING A SMOKE, WOULD IT BE OKAY TO HAVE ONE AND THEN RINSE WITH SALT WATER AND/OR THE RINSE WASH MY DOCTOR GAVE ME? THANK YOU

If you can hold 5 days without smoking then surely some more days you can avoid smoking until the wound gets better.
