Is Some Displacement In An Ankle And Knee Joint Rod Normal?

I met an accident and the doctor has put rod in my left leg (between Ankle and Knee). Both my fibula and tibia were totally disjoint in an accident. A saw m X-ray after the operation. I see a bit of displacement . I was just curious to know if some displacement is tolerable- if yes - how much (2mm/4mm/6mm). And if now - what should i do now. Should i undergo another operation?

Hi, Thanks for your query.
After going through your query I came to know that you had fracture leg bones. Probably you got it fixed by interlocking nail.
You saw X-ray after the operation. You see a bit of displacement . You was just curious to know if some displacement is tolerable- if yes - how much (2mm/4mm/6mm). And if now - what should you do now. Should you undergo another operation?
In my opinion little bit of displacement is quit acceptable. You need not to worry. There should be more than 50% contact of bone at fracture site (it is not in mm). I think you need not to go for another operation.
You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query. Take care.
