General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, I understand your concern. Spotting in pregnancy ( before it's full term & due for delivery) is not at all normal, it needs to be taken care of. - From information given by you you had old blood collected in vagina. This bleeding can be from inside the uterus ( trauma/ placenta previa/ some blow or trauma to abdomen/ high blood pressure )or outside the uterus ( infection of vagina, vaginal polyp, vaginal erosion) - From these causes the placenta previa & cervical problem are not seen) * They have taken HVS test for excluding vaginal infection. After abdominal sonography & blood pressure recording they will pin point the cause & start with specific treatment. Please don't worry, it can be controlled very well. Thanks.
