OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine, Dr. Swati Varma's Response
Hi..if you have got your urine pregnancy test positive that means you are pregnant..so the very first step would be a transvaginal scan ( ultrasound) to confirm the viability i.e. embryo is live or not and site of pregnancy..i.e. to rule out extrauterine pregnancy..because red mucus spotting might be normal implantation bleeding but may also suggest some sort of threatened miscarriage or incomplete miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy.
