Is Spotting With A Light Period Due To Implantation Bleeding?
I am confused as of whether I have experienced implantation bleeding or a strange, short period. Just a few days before my period was due, I had some brown spotting. Later, the bleeding came as a somewhat light period, mostly brown or very dark red blood. Only lasted one day and started at least six days after intercourse. Is it possible that I could be pregnant?
Hello dear Understand your concern Following are the features of implantation bleeding: Just like spotting and light bleeding that dark red and brown in color, occur 6-12 days after sexual intercourse (just before the period date), for 1-2 days only, associated with abdominal cramp but just for one day. So if you had sexual intercourse during ovulation then chance of implantation bleeding. I advice you co confirm the pregnancy/implantation bleeding if period will delay by the 10-12 days from your normal period date. It should be confirmed by home pregnancy test (fresh morning urine sample), blood HCG ad USG scan. In absence of pregnancy, it should be due to hormonal imbalance and ovarian cyst/pcos. Should be confirmed by hormonal analysis and ovarian follicle study. Hope this may help you Best regards Dr. Sagar
