Is Stool Test Is Needed Due To Swallowing Of Toy ?
MY son swallowed a toy ninja star from a teenage mutant ninja turtle, he is 3.5 years old, the object is less than 2cm, it happened on the evening of Jan. 8th. He has had recent loose stools, not diarrhea, haven t found the object, but I am also not straining the stool either. I wouldn t describe the object as sharp, it is smooth but obviously has four points. Should he get checked out or should I wait a few more days for him to pass it. I have found in sources that it should have been out in 48-72 hours and others say 6 days to up to 4 weeks.
Hi welcome to health care magic forum. It appears that he has swallowed, a nearly 2 C.M, object, and not found in the stools, for 8 days now, in spite of the loose motions. It is not sure whether it is swallowed, because it is a bit big in size, and already 8 days passed, so i advise you to consult a pediatritian, for having an X ray, and find the thing, and its where abouts. If it is found, the plan of treatment may be considered. I advise you to give him 2 banana a day, to have a soft mass in the intestines, to carry any foreign body out. Wishing him a quick and comfortable recovery. Thank you.
