bronchitis or chronic bronchitis is related to copd that is a result of smoking
in case you have lower resp tract infection or bronchitis which is causing the symptom you need to visit a Pulmonologist who can request for a sputum culture and sensitivity that can lead to the identification of the disease causing organism and accordingly the sensitive drugs can be started . I my patients I usually do the same
you may disscuss all these modalities with your Pulmonologist so that he can guide you better
if it's chronic bronchitis a spirometry is needed to stage the diseases and accordingly inhaled medications need to be started
thanks feel free to ask more questions
