Is Surgery An Option For Removal Of Corn In Foot?

Hello dr ...,my son is 15 , he has developed corn inhis right foot , he has used corn caps ,past and more then ten days now .the problem is that he is in studying in hostel and the dr (school)has asked him to get it removed surgically .the vacation for him is only after December 18 ... My Q is can he wait that long to get thecorn removed and what medicine should he use till then ????
