I had a large (grape sized) lymph node removed from my throat 3 years ago and another one has grown back in its place and is even larger. It is my understanding that lymph nodes swell as they create white blood cells to fight infection, but I am otherwise completely healthy and was screened for infections before the first one was removed, and they found nothing. Is it time for a second and third opinion before I jump under the knife again?
