Is Surgery Recommended For A Large Hiatal Hernia Causing Difficulty In Breathing?
In seeking treatment for pronounced difficulty in breathing, my lung specialist said that a CT scan shows that I have a massive hiatal hernia; and the intestines/organs are pressing against the lungs, impeding breathing. she is referring me to a surgeon. How does the surgery help? Thank you for information. Deb
As the breathing difficulty is from compression of abdominal organs over the diaphragm through the defect in form of a hiatus hernia, surgical correction of the same will reverse the effects to cure the breathing problem.
