The treatment that your wife has received is completely scientific and correct. Stage 3 ovarian cancer cannot be cured by chemotherapy alone. Both chemotherapy and surgery need to be part of the treatment plan. However, despite this treatment a number of patients fail later and recurrences do occur. The 5 year survival for stage 3 ovarian cancer is only 30%. Your wife developed a recurrence not because of wrong treatment but because of the advanced stage at presentation and the aggressive nature of the disease.
