Hello Doc! I am 26M, I am having tight fore skin and after a research I found it is phimosis, I am pretty sure my sex life will be effected and I will be married in couple of years. I have few questions- where can I get this treated and should I undergo a surgery?. If so how many days do you think I should be hospitalised? Thanks!
Hello, Sir Welcome to healthcaremagic. I can certainly understand your concern. I have worked through your query in detail. Surgery is required to treat the phimosis in your case. Phimosis is narrowing of foreskin and inability to retract the foreskin over the glans penis. This surgery is called Circumcision, which involves complete removal of the foreskin. It takes twenty minutes for the procedure to complete. A day care admission is required. Sexual activity has to be stopped for atleast one month post procedure. This surgery is usually well tolerated and complications are minimal. You need to consult a urologist or a general surgeon for the expert opinion. Please check with your physician if he shares my view and if can indicate this procedure to you. Post your further queries if any. Thank you
