Is Swallowing Camphor Tablet Injurious To Health?

Hello,



Two weeks back my 18 month old son who was playing suddenly collapsed. His eyes rolled back into head, jaws and hand clenched. This episode last 7 minutes and was unconscious for the duration. After regaining conscious, he was went to sleep for a while. He was normal after that.



He was having breakfast at the time this event occurred. About 30 minutes before he collapsed, he had swallowed one karpoor (camphor) tablet.



The pediatric doctor suggested this must case of choking.



I am concerned.

Such symptoms demands the CT brain study and should not be taken as granted this could be just coincidence of swallowing camphor tablet and this may not cause such symptoms, in my opinion epilepsy need to be ruled out, hope this information helps, take care.
