Is Swelling And Black And Blue Bruising Around The Eyes Normal After An Eye Injury?

I fell on the ice nearly two weeks ago, immediately had a goose egg size bump on right eyebrow.... Did not lose conciousness. Went to emergency, ct.scan showed no broken bones or residual bleeding on brain.... Eye swelled shut within hours, followed by extreme bruising ( purple /black/ greenish hue around eye socket and cheek... White of eye remained white). Consequently though, the goose egg swelling and extreme shineiness and black and blue lump (and pain when raising eyebrow) has not subsided! Is this normal or should I seek another doctors' visit?

Hello
It seems from the history that you had a injury following which you are having black eyes. This occurs because of collection of blood in the layers of the eyelid.
Since you have already undergone evaluation with CT scan being normal, no need to worry.
This condition is self limiting and it will resolve over 2-3 weeks.
Hence I advice you to wait for 2-3 weeks it will be alright.

Thank you
