Is Swelling In Fingers Related To Productive Cough, and Should I Be Concerned About It?

Hi, my 13 year old daughter has had a cough that has loosened and is very productive but was still having an issue this morning so we kept her home from school. Although the cough seems to be getting better and is no longer I coughing fits her fingers have become quite swollen. Is this something that could be related or is it a virus going around or worse, is it something I need to be concerned about? She says they don t hurt and she is not, nor has she, ran a fever with this. Thank you, Crystal

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hi. I can understand your concern.
She will need to undergo a detailed evaluation like blood tests and a chest x ray. It would be advisable for you to consult a pulmonologist at the earliest for the same.
Don't worry, she will be alright.
Hope I have solved your query.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
