Hello and welcome to HCM..
I thank you for posting your query here and I'm definitely going to help you out..

I being a surgeon, we encounter so many such cases day in and day out..
I read your question completely and have understood it well enough.

I will analyze all your points and will provide necessary information..

1. 56 year old, gender important to rule out other associated aspects like prostate related in males.
Anyway, I will advise for both male and female..

2. You say your face swells up..
When is this? Early morning such swelling of face strongly suggests Renal problems.
Suggest you not to wait..

Get serum creatinine test along with blood urea nitrogen.
And also, usg renal scan to see for status of kidneys.

If this is normal then you need not worry at all..

In male, prostate enlargement in age more than 50 is common and this results in obstructive uropathy with similar features
In females, meatal stenosis is a well recognized problem..

3. Two to three times in night again is little on abnormal side if you are male.
Prostate problems will result in this..
Solution- anyway I have already advised renal scan, in that they'll also look for prostate.

4. But suggest you not to worry, get your self evaluated before we come to any diagnosis.

Hope this helps you, in case you need any further assistance, please let me know..
Take care and God bless you..
