Is Swollen Belly A Recovery Symptom Of Early Vacuum Abortion?
I had an early vacuum abortion 2 days ago (at 7 weeks) and my belly is swollen now. It s been only 2 days since the procedure, but is this normal? I don t have a fever and I m not bleeding that much (a bit in and off). I do feel gassy though, and just overall uneasy. Are these normal recovery symptoms?

These symptoms could be secondary to the procedure and/or related to the hormone effect of pregnancy. Please remember, the pregnancy hormones take some time to vanish even after an abortion. Yet, please see your consultant for a follow up visit to ensure everything is fine. A follow up trans-vaginal sonogram also is necessary to ensure completion of the process and also to know the state of the pelvic organs. Hope you find this information useful. Wish you good health.
