My husband drinks 3 liters Scotch/week. He was on an antidepressant and had syncopal episodes(1-3/day). Med change was instituted and reports has had no spells from Jan to May. The med he was taking has been independently stopped and out of his system 4-6 weeks now but he has had 3 syncopal episodes in the past 2 1/2 mo. Is it just the ETOH or something more?
cannot say in his particular case, but it certainly won't help. Alcohol associated sleeping, blackouts, unconsciousness, memory effects, seizures, are all well-known. Those would be bad. In fact, one would have to have medical supervision on stopping that much alcohol because withdrawal could lead to serious/fatal consequences.
