Is Taking Comtan Along With Mirapex Safe While Treating Parkinson S Disease?
I was diagnosed with Parkinson s7 years ago and up until recentlyMirapex & sinemet mostly took care of walking problem, I have recently had 2 major back surgeries and my mobility deteriorated even after going through rehab & physical therapy. My neurologist has prescribed Comtan3 X daily. My sinemet went from 2 X daily to 4 X daily. My mirapex remains same at 4 X daily My question is do I take the Comtan at same time as sinemet or does it matter how I take it?Thank you.
There are no serious interactions that may result in adverse effects between Comtan (Entacapone), Mirapex (Pramipexole) and Sinemet (Carbidopa/Levodopa ).
Comtan should be taken with every dose of Sinemet simultaneously.
So, I think you should discuss with your Neurologist for changes in the schedule of taking Sinemet and Comtan.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
