Hello,

First, I need to analyze your case better, so I need to have all your tests reports in. Next, you say to have liver issues, Atorvastatin can damage your liver, that's why they recommended to stop using it. With regard to Lactulose, it is used as stool softener, especially in case of severe constipation, and when there are severe problems with liver affecting the brain.

Acidophyllus is a type of probiotic that will normalize intestinal flora. Xifaxan is rifaximin (a type of antibiotic) used to treat bowel infection. All the drugs are first processed in the liver. And if the liver is already damaged, we are constrained to give the patient that particular medication that won't cause further damage to already damaged liver.

Looking forward to have all your lab reports for a more accurate and personalized recommendation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care. All the best.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
