Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
The other day I accidently took 2 pills in one day, one from the original pack and one from a spare packet I had (because I couldnt remember if I took the first one). I was panicking because I usually take it in the morning but took it in the evening 11hours late then accidently took another one. so at the end of this pack I will have taken 22 pills instead of 21. is that ok?
You should always take the pills as prescribed. After you have taken it mark it on the calendar. Always take the pill in the same time everyday. Ideally you should not take extra pills and should be more careful. Taking one extra pill should not matter, but if it becomes a routine it may affect the hormonal balance and cause irregularities in menstrual cycle. Stay away from addictions (alcohol, smoking, weeds, etc.) as they interfere with the function of the pill and may reduce its efficacy.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
