Is Taking Medication For Cold Recommended During Pregnancy?
Hello. My wife is pregnant of 27 week she have cold from two days. One of my doctor friend prescribed some drugs. Can take this during pregnancy? Tab. azee 250 mg 2 times a day. Tab. Maxtra cold 3 times a day. Tab. P RD before lunch and dinner. Please guide me. Thanx
Your doctor friend has prescribed a regimen to trest an infection, most probably an upper respiratory tract infection. The first thing I would like to say is that you need to always inform your wife's obstetrician about any medications you plan on giving your wife, as she is the one overlooking her pregnancy.
I would personally not like to initiate any medications in a pregnant woman before consulting with her obstetrician. As for the medications, all of them carry a mild risk, but these seem to be averagely safe. Please only initiate them after her obstetrician has weighed the benefits versus risks.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes.
