Is The Dent On Forehead A Possible Sign Of A Skull Fracture?
My son (8 years old) was hit in the forehead by his ceiling fan (on high) when he reached over his bunk bed. He bled a lot but it stopped. Now he has a cm wide dent in his forehead where he was bleeding. He says he feels fine. No nausea, no ringing in his ears, blurred vision, etc. He s carrying on normal conversation and has no memory issues. It happened about 30 minutes ago. Is this dent a possible sign of a skull fracture? Or would he have other symptoms in that case? I don t know if he s fine to heal at home or if he should go to the ER. He has a lot of anxiety, so he will likely have a lot of stress and a possible panic attack if we take him in. Obviously if he needs to go, we will do whatever is necessary, but we try to avoid unnecessary hospital trips for that reason.

Is The Dent On Forehead A Possible Sign Of A Skull Fracture?
H i Dent at the site of injury may be from depresses fracture. You have to take him to ER for examination, and investigations like xray. You can convince him that it is not painful and no need to panic. Always excluding problems is better. God bless Dr Uma
