Is The Dizziness And Nausea Due To Loss Of Blood Caused By Laceration In Hand?
Hello I was in the ER yesterday and had to get 9 staples due to a lasceration in my hand. I think I have been running a fever today I don t have a thermometer, but I have been freezing cold and burning hot on and off all day. I have also fallen a few times today for no reason. I m trying to sleep now but every time I lay down I get dizzy to the point that I am nauseous. I am guessing maybe this is why I was falling over earlier and just didn t realize I was dizzy. Is this normal, or even a possible side effect from the blood loss or the pain?
Based on your description, you may have a fever which can occur if the area is infected. Fever can sometimes also occur as an inflammatory response to trauma.
You may need to consider visiting your doctor for an evaluation. He or she would be able to determine if the wound is infected and suggest a course of antibiotics. Anti pyretic medication such as paracetamol or ibuprofen would also be helpful.
I hope this helps
