Is The Impotent Patch In The Retina The Cause For Heaviness In The Eyes?

Hi, I am 23 years old female and use glasses of power -4.75. I have been using glasses since fourteen years now. I was detected for an impotent patch in the retina of my right eye four years back but since it was and still is harmless i decided to not go for a surgery. I wear contacts and have often have the problem of dry eyes for which i have used lubricating eye drops time to time. The problem now is, that i have a weird heaviness in my right eye. It doesnt feel relaxed. Can you please suggest something?

Hello
It seems from the history that you are having refractive error myopia with refractive power of -4.75. The patch in the retina as you are saying can be a part of myopic degeneration of the retina. This does not cause heaviness of the eye lids.
The heaviness in the eye lids is usually caused by inflammation or infection of the glands of the eyelids. This requires treatment by the use of antibiotic eye drops. Contact lens should not used till this infection subsides.

Thank you
