Is The Presence Of Nodules On The Thyroid Dangerous?

yes, i have a question regarding thyroid nodules. I originally had a scan three years ago that showed tiny nodules upon followup scan i have three oval and anechoic nodules; a small .36x.24 in the right lateral isthmus, .21x.41 in the right lobe and 2.94x2.64x.47 in the left lobe. What does this mean to me? Thank you

Hi,

Welcome to HCM.

You are having a multinodular goiter. That means there are multiple nodules in your thyroid.

Further tests needed are thyroid function tests and FNAC ( a needle biopsy) from thyroid.

If the needle test is abnormal you have to get it removed. Or else we can follow up with periodic ultrasound scans.

Hope I have answered your questions. If you have any further queries I will be happy to help you.

Regards,
