Is The Radiofrequency Procedure Available In Boston For Multiple Sclerosis?
My wife has M.S. and has had it for more then 35 years.. In the past she Trigeminal Neuralga and was cured for many years through radio frequency procedure. This was done in Boston Ma and the Dr. that performed it has moved on and I can only remember his first name Joel and the last named ended witz. Is this procedure available in Boston? What hospital and the Physician I may contact?
Radiofrequency ablation is available in Boston now as it was in the past as it is in virtually very Academic Training Center Hospital in every major city. However, typically, it is not a procedure to be repeated to the same nerve because the procedure that was done supposedly ABLATED the nerve of interest....meaning the Trigeminal Nerve. If pain is now reoccurring it would have to be ascertained that in fact, the origin is that of a nerve that can even be ablated since often recrudescence of symptoms is generated from other pain modulating centers such as the brain itself or even the peripheral pain sensors themselves in the face being affected before considering undertaking another procedure.
