Is The Shadow On Heart Of Fetus Related To Down S Syndrome?
I received the results from my anatomy scan and my doctor said everything was normal, except there was a shadow on the baby s heart. He said the heart was perfectly normal and that this shadow was most likely a calcium deposit BUT this could be a soft marker for downs. My NT Scan came back very normal and I had no other markers for down s/chromosonal abnormality. He said he would NOT recommend getting an amnio done as the shadow is the only indication of something wrong. Do many babies who DO NOT have chromosonal abnormalities have a shadow???

I have gone through your question and understand your concern , dear the shadow may be artefact and if you are worry instead going for invasive test amniocentesis you can go for non invasive test cell free fetal DNA on maternal blood. Detection rate and specificity is 99% for the detection of down syndrome. ALL THE BEST
