Is The Swelling Around The Suture Of Incision A Sign Of Infection?
Dear Dr. Samuel,
Three days ago I had a 1/4" incision stitched - .the suture at the site of the incision is an inch in length. Presently there is a sunken area in the centre of the suture with swellings at both ends of the suture line. There is no obvious infection. Is this normal and how soon will the swelling disappear? Thank you for advice.
Hi,dear.Welcome to HCM. It is a normal thing to get swelling around your incision at 2nd and 3rd day .It is usually maximum at 3rd day.It will usually subside by itself, its a natural healing process of our body. You should not be worried about it unless you notice any abnormal sign. Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
Wishing you good health.
