Is The Urinary Infection And Abdominal Cramps Related?

Hi Dr Lundi, I am currently 31 weeks pregnant. Last week I was treeted for a urinal infection which was discovered the week before. During the course of last week I started having severe lower abdominal pain. I went back to my doctor about this who told me that it could be as a result of the infection, however, the medication for the infection is finished and the pain has not subsided. Could there be anything else that can cause this pain?

Perhaps you may know that simple urinary infection is sometime possible due to hormonal imbalance during pregnancy and the suitable antiboitic started should have at least moderated effect .Then we could have suggested to continue same. But with no effect, either organisms responsible for infection are resistant or there could be associated with factors that perpetuate such infection. Please go for review and get investigated what is complicating.
