Is There A Blood Pressure Medication That Wont Cause Severe Neuropathy?
My brother is 54 6 2 and average weight. His blood pressure without medication is 138/94. When he takes medication he has really bad neuropathy in his feet. His doctor changed the medication and he still has bad neuropathy. He quit taking the medication because he can t stand the pain in his feet. Is there a blood pressure medication that wont cause severe neuropathy?
Hi Antihypertensive are not known to affect nerves leading to neuropathy. However cause of neuropathy should be rules out like Diabetes etc. However the safer drug in this category can be ACE inhibitors like Ramipril, AT antagonist like Losartan, Calcium channel blocker like amlodipine. In my opinion any of these can be tried. Take Care
