Hello, and I hope I can answer your question today.
The I-pill is greater than 90 percent effective if taken within 72 hours of
unprotected intercourse, and the fact that your wife took the pill almost immediately increases it's effectiveness.
However, the timing of intercourse is within your wife's fertile time.
So I would say there is a chance of
pregnancy, but it is very small.
The I-pill usually causes some bleeding to occur about 3-5 days after taking it. This is not her period, but a withdrawal from the medication. The medication can also make your wife's real period late. If she has no bleeding and her period is late, I recommend performing a urine pregnancy test at that time. Testing too early can cause a false negative test.
So in summary, there is a low chance of pregnancy even after taking I-pill, provided you ejaculated inside her.
I hope I was able to adequately answer your question today and that my advice was helpful.
Best wishes,
Dr. Brown
