Is There A Possibility Of Complicated Pregnancy When Suffering From Osteoporosis?
A black woman 31 years of age and suffers from osteoporosis because of a plate in her hip and rod in her femur. She also suffers from depression. She recieved prenatal care at about five after she found out she was pregnant. Is it a possibility the she may have complications in her pregnancy as she is now 25 weeks pregnant?
Hello, Yes, she would need special care in her pregnancy and have a planned delivery in a well-equipped hospital in view of the complications she has. As of now, there should be no difficulty in the progress of her pregnancy. She also needs to get some counselling in view of the depression. Please see that she takes adequate rest, mineral supplementation and regular monitoring; regular fetal monitoring with sonograms also should be done. Maintain a good diet and friendly atmosphere. Hope you find this information useful. Take care.
