Is There A Procedure To Help Restore Vision In The Eyes After An Accident?

Hi Doctor, I am Maurice Kenneth Camua, 23 years old from the Philippines and last March 18, 2018 , I met an accident in riding a motorcycle and was confined in a hospital for one week. My left face was damaged with inflammation and had an operation on my left face only after that my left eye cannot see, loss of vision. In the hospital the eye doctor check my left eye, he say no problem in front of the eye it is ok but at the back of the eye cannot see, we need a eye CT-scan to see the back eye portion and only I was given medicine for my left eye inflammation to take and anti-bacteria medicine for my wounds. After one month I had an Eye CT-Scan , the examination done: Orbit with contrast , the result impression: Unremarkable CT Scan of the Orbit and normal. ON June 11, 2018 I had took another eye doctor for check-up of my left eye and the doctor says that blockage in optic nerve on the eye occur during the inflammation and no blood supply flow in the optic nerve that cause of my vision to loss. The doctor says no chance to see but he give me Polynerv Vitamin to take for 20 days to try. My questions are : 1. What remedy of treatment can you give me to do to my left eye to see again? 2. Can any procedures help me to restore my left eye sight? 3. Is the vitamin in nerve can help my eye vision? So, help me and God bless.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The damage to the optic nerve is usually permanent and it's the nerve which connects the eye to the brain. Multivitamins can rarely help but usually the prognosis is grave.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
