Hi,
Pregnancy with focal nodular hyperplasia in the liver does not cause much complications except for the fact that the improved vascularity during pregnancy may lead to an increase in size and thus chances of hemorrhage. Hence, when pregnancy is contemplated with FNH, it is advisable to have regular sonograms every two months or so, to know the hepatic status. Regular monitoring is mandatory throughout pregnancy. Though oral contraceptives can cause this condition, there are several proposed causes and not one. Hope this helps.
