Is There A Test Other Than PAP Test To Determine The Cause Of Inflammation?
Hi, My nurse practioner prescribed metronidazole for me following two Pap test that could not be read due to “inflammation.” I am wondering if there is a test that will determine wether or not the inflammation is caused by a bacteria prior to taking an antibiotic? I hate to take a drug with side effects without knowing if it’s going to be effective.
Inflammation is suggestive of an infection for which you have to take antibiotics and it’s the drug of choice for vaginitis and cervicitis. So I suggest you take it as prescribed.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
