Is There A Treatment For Pinched Nerve After Having A Key Hole Surgery For Broken Arm?

I like in England and in 1998 I broke my arm, it never healed great and in 2005 and I had key hole surgery in order to fix the problem, however afer a few months the muscle tore again. So in order to put things right my surgeon shortened the bone this was in 2007, this worked great, he put in a metal plate, it was perfect until a few months later I fell and broke my wrist in two places on the other side by my thumb (2008) See a pattern here? Anyway, I ve had this plate in since 2007 and I went to my doctors today because after picking up my cousins son at christmas, i think I damaged something becaus eI have been getting a lot of pain and such from the plate, I can feel it there and it s pinching. At the moment my doctor has my on ant-inflamatries. What i m concerned about though is that my doctor mentioned a letter from my surgeon that states I could have the plate removed. Since I find it really hard to lift things already, how much damage is it going to do to have the plate removed from my wrist? Please help?
