Is There A Treatment To Stimulate The Production On Alpha1 Antithripsyne?
Hello Dr. Goyal, My name is Bojidar Lukanov and I am from Bulgaria. My health problem is that since 2006 (when firstly occured) I had 5-6 pneumothorax surgeries. In month ago one doctor suggested me to make a test for Alpha 1 Antithripsyne. The reference values were 0.9 - 2.0 g/l but my results were 0.275 g/l . I have been told that this ensym is making tissue .They put this as reason for my pneumothorax. Please ,my question is if there is a treatment for me.Or a way to stimulate my body produce this ensym? Thank You Dr.Goyal
I will suggest you to take replacement therapy of alpha 1 antitrypsin enzyme. Additionally you need to avoid smoking, treat infections aggressively, and to diagnose any superimposed respiratory problem or disease like asthma, COPD, emphysema. There is no way to stimulate your body for enzyme production.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
