Is There An Alternative To Metronidazol For Bacterial Infection Which Would Have Lesser Side Effects?

I have a bacterial infection and Dr. gave me Metronidazol 500 mg. I have hep c and do not do well with drugs. years ago I took antibiotics for h-plori and had to stop due to side affects that made me sick. Is there something else I could take with less side affects to get rid of this infection... I am afraid to take the drug as I am 90 % sure it will make me sicker. Thanks Cheryl

Dear User,
Thanks for using health care magic.

From the available description it appears that you are not able to tolerate metronidazole. In that case you can opt for tinidazole that have similar mechanism of action and lesser side effects.

'Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help".
Thanks
