Is There An Oral Medicine Available For The Treatment Of A Vaginal Yeast Infection?
Hi. I am a healthy 37 yr old female that gets the occasional vaginal yeast infection. I used to receive oral fluconazole but the last time it was prescribed I had an allergic reaction that included swelling of the mouth (lips and tongue). I have had to resort to vaginal creams since then and dislike them very much. Are there any other oral treatment options that may be available to me? I plan to contact my Dr on Monday and would like to be prepared to ask about possible options. Thank you!

Is There An Oral Medicine Available For The Treatment Of A Vaginal Yeast Infection?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. You can take oral Fluconazole. It’s quite effective in fungal infection. If Fluconazole fails, we can go for alternative options. Wishing you good health. Thanks.
