Dear Dr. Jain,
I had my last period on 7th august. on 31st august I had an unprotected intercourse with my partner. He didn't ejaculate inside me but to be absolutely sure I took an emergency contraceptive within 4 hours of the act. This was the first time I took an ECP but didn't get any of the usual side effects like nausea or abdominal pain. my question is: is there any chance of a pregnancy? and when can I expect my next period as I have heard that period gets delayed due to ECP. If I do get my normal period as it is due anytime this week, could I be sure that I'm not pregnant? Lastly, is there any chance of an ECP failure provided I take it within 3-4 hours and I'm not pregnant already?
