Is There Any Complete Treatment For Oculomotor Nerve Palsy?
Is there any complete treatment for Oculomotor nerve palsy(cranial nerve III ) in my left eye which resulted from a head injury in a road accident in June 14. I am suffering since last six months and other than wait and watch there is no medication available in allopathy. It has partially recovered( As told by Opthalamologists) in last six months.
I am 37 years old male.
The eyelid was closed initially for 3 months which opened in Sep 14 since then I have a double vision problem. I find it tough to look at objects in bright light.
I reviewed your history. It seems from the history that you are having oculomotor nerve palsy. My response to your query is as below. Oculomotor nerve palsy in your age group particularly if you are not having diabetes or hypertension requires evaluation and radiological investigations like CT or MRI to find out the underlying cause and treatment accordingly.
Diplopia can be treated by the use of prisms or by the use of decentered glasses till the condition improves. Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and treatment accordingly. Hope this answers your question. Do write back to me for further questions.
