Is There Any Connection Between Back Pain And Cardiac Issues?

Is there a connection between back pain and cardiac issues? I am a 75 year old female - history of heart
problems in my family, but have not had any. I am 5'
6" and weigh 160 lbs. I work full-time at a desk job
Recently had a stress test which was negative. Have had a lot of stress to deal with including loss
of my husband in May 2010. Otherwise, health is
pretty good considering my age. I have had panic
disorder in the past and take medication for that.
I am now living alone and do not like that too much
my granddaughter is in first year of college in another location.........after living with her grandfather and me since she was 3 years old. That
has left a void in my life as well.

Hi,
Cardiac issues usually does not present with back pain. Now that a stress test was negative, we need not worry about cardiac issues.
The cause for your back pain could be your full time desk job.
Now a days, it is very common in most of them on desk job or otherwise due to bad seating position.
You can follow a few things to get your back pain under control
1. Sitting position - back should be straight.
2. Reduction of weight could be helpful
3. Back exercises - atleast 20 minutes in morning to strengthen the back muscles
4. Avoid sitting too long and try to be mobile frequently.
5. Physiotherapy help can be taken to strengthen muscles.

If pain is severe, you can take NSAID group of painkillers.

Any further queries, happy to help again.
